Beijing’s edgy art zone: 798

I first heard about this place from a documentary film producer in 2004. 798: A one-time military factory in Beijing that had been converted into an artists’ village. Not long afterward, I heard people lamenting that this creative corner of the city was fast becoming commercialized.
