That was an awesome concert! I had lots of MOBs there~ Sometimes I miss the 90s, not just the music, you know?

These are kick-ass pictures! I can never photograph a concert. The pictures often come out terribly dark or out-of-focus. Where was the concert?

I think you can download the Colbert Report by Emule. It’s a p2p software, you can search for that show. I like that guy too.

Hold the press! I have just discovered that the Chinese YouTube-like site, Tudou, doesn’t just mean “dirt bean.” Full-length episodes of the Office … yes, the power of Web 2.0 combined with lax IP laws. More info to come.

The only way to overcome prejudice is to know and love someone of another race, culture, ideology than your own. You find out we’re not so different after all. Blessed are the peace makers.

There is one small problem. When ideology becomes mainstream it quickly looses its esoteric value. Case in point, by the time the fashion creations of the Milan runway hit the bargain basement of Walmart it has somehow lost it’s magic. It has been dissected, commercialized, stripped of its artistry.

Don’t lose hope, the beauty of the vision lies within the visionary. You don’t want people to copy what you are doing, but to begin to think the way you’re thinking. To explore, to think outside of the box.

Always look beyond yourself, always dare to dream.

Well maybe not that big, not in the cities, but I guess this is all I know because everyone who comes here from a major metropolitan area comments on how spread out and open it is and how big the sky is. If they traveled to west Texas they would probably have an outer body experience. You can see to the next state out there.

Is this song I’m hearing from a Chinese rock band? Are you serious? It’s brilliant! Hard to believe a Chinese band is named after JD Salinger’s classic, sings in English and sounds kinda like Creed.

Isn’t that what PR is, trying to measure and impact what the people are saying or thinking about any given subject, idea or event. The question has always been, “what’s the word on the street.” YouTube is the new street.

Will things speed up, I think inevitably, yes. The real question is will this access to all knowledge and opinion bring satisfaction or lead us to the age old realization, “there’s nothing new under the sun.”

Someday, this new social experiment will be history, the subject of a PBS documentary, what your children roll their eyes at and consider so elementary.

    Thus the cycle continues.

So can the term Sinophile replace our term Sinobum – an old white guy chasing very young Chinese girls?

  29. Posted December 6, 2007 at 10:22 AM | Permalink

Sinobum stands. It is only a sick little subset (bad) of sinophile (good), which includes reputable world leaders like the new Mandarin-speaking prime minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd.

it’s kind of sad, you go to school all your life to get a job and have a career.

Then, your dream job turns out to be work and the career you want wants too much from you.

    Welcome to adulthood.

Life is about balance. Work hard but remember to stop and smell the roses.
