Three wheels, two legs,
the man on the tricycle presses ahead.
Wrestling with the weight
of a cart full of wood,
surely you’d take the bus if you could.
The fraying rope, the crying chain,
inertia is against you; traffic’s the same.
You’re moving at a snail’s pace,
but the look on your face tells me
this is not a race.

Do you haiku?

You may have noticed a new category of posts on Gotoofareast called “Haikoo”. It’s posts written in the style of Japanese poetry, haiku (俳句). Some of you have asked how they’re written.

Comments haiku

I just realized that when I write about people, I get a lot of comments. When I write about politics, I get a few comments. And when I write about religion, I don’t get any comments.
So I decided to write a haiku about it:
